Present

Studio Esja is a ceramics studio in Álafoss, Mosfellsbær (Iceland). We make Icelandic pottery in small batches—functional tableware and quiet, durable forms meant to be used every day.Our work is shaped by Japanese ceramic tradition and by years of practice: steady lines, balanced weight, clean rims, and a surface that feels good in the hand. Everything is precision-made with attention to proportion, comfort, and longevity. We also host a pottery workshop in Iceland for those who want to step into the process—hands-on time with clay, guided simply and calmly.New pieces are released in limited drops. If something is sold out, it will return when the next firing is ready.

Past

Studio Esja was established after years of working with clay and developing a shared approach to making. Our background is Latvian, and that informs how we work — materially and practically. The studio continues to develop through making, testing, and repetition.
